Why does my HTC Aria keep showing white screen and won't turn on...HELP?

I texted a friend and sat my phone down by my laptop and and the screen went white with the HTC logo and started pulse vibrating non-stop.....It would not turn off or respond to any buttons....so i took the back off and took the battery out....i put the battery back in and tried to turn it back on and it still showed the white screen with the logo and wouldn't go any further....i tried just plugging it up to the charger while it was off and the orange light and a light black screen came up but it froze that way..the battery icon didn't even show up and when i took it off the charger..it stayed that way frozen.....I've also tried taking the SD and Sim card out....none of that worked....can anyone help me.
